What causes a car to stall when accelerating?
By Forinfos - 26/11/2025 - 0 comments
Some of the reasons that a car can stall when accelerating are a defective throttle position sensor, low fuel pressure and spark plugs that need to be replaced. When the "Check engine" light is on, a code scanner can be used to identify the cause more accurately.
Replacing the spark plugs, distributor caps, fuel filter and air filter should correct most issues that cause a car to stall during acceleration. If the problem does not stop, take the car to a mechanic to look at the fuel management system, throttle position sensor and the mass air flow sensor or to verify the reason for the "Check engine" light.
