Some causes of tendon pain in the wrist include typing, writing and other repetitive-stress activities with the hands and wrists, states Healthline. Tendon pain can also be a side effect of another health condition, such as rheumatoid arthritis, scleroderma, gout or diabetes.
Tenosynovitis, or tendon sheath inflammation, causes tendon pain in the wrist, explains Healthline. Injury to the tendon in the wrists may cause the protective sheath covering the tendon to produce an insufficient amount of synovial fluid, which helps keep the tendon lubricated. People in certain professions are more prone to tendon pain in the wrists, including carpenters, dentists and office workers.
