Are cell phone numbers accessible to telemarketers?
By Forinfos - 05/03/2025 - 0 comments
In most cases, placing telemarketing calls to wireless phones is illegal, as of June 2015. Though there are rumors of wireless carriers creating a 411 directory for wireless phones, the numbers would not be accessible for telemarketing purposes.
Telemarketing is illegal for any call using automatic dialing services or prerecorded voice messaging when calling wireless numbers, according to the Federal Communications Commission. This law applies regardless of whether the number is on the National Do-Not-Call List. The government does not maintain a separate do-not-call list for wireless numbers. It is possible to add wireless numbers to the National Do-Not-Call List toll free at 1-888-382-1222.
