Is central air conditioning energy efficient?
By Forinfos - 11/12/2025 - 0 comments
Central air conditioners labeled with the ENERGY STAR logo meet energy efficiency guidelines set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. This means that the air conditioner has a higher seasonal energy efficiency ratio (SEER) and energy efficiency ratio ratings, making them over 15 percent more efficient than other air conditioners.
Since all central air conditioners require a blower motor to blow the air throughout the duct system, homeowners should consider replacing the heating system at the same time, especially if the heating system is over 15 years old, to ensure the new air conditioner performs effectively at its rated efficiency.
