What is a certificate of origin?
By Forinfos - 22/06/2025 - 0 comments
A certificate of origin is an official document that states the country of origin of a manufactured good or commodity. This document typically contains pertinent export information for the product, such as its destination, that can be required for various treaty agreements between nations.
As of 2015, there are two types of certificates of origin: nonpreferential and preferential. Nonpreferential certificates of origin are typically issued for products that are not part of any preferential treatment agreement between the importing and exporting countries. Preferential certificates of origin are issued for products that can enjoy special exemptions or reductions in import tariffs.
