Cheat Engine was created by Erik Heijnen and is used to modify the components of a computer game by disassembling the memory of a process. Things that are changeable include adding infinite lives, ammunition or unlimited time. In is also used to reduce the amount of health or supplies provided in a game, to increase the difficulty of the game.
