How do you check your Provident Fund balance online?

As of 2015, individuals may request their Employees' Provident Fund balance online by visiting india.gov.in/check-your-epf-balance-online and selecting the Check Your EPF Balance Online link. Up-to-date balance details are then sent via SMS to a provided mobile number.

A person must select the EPFO office where the account is maintained, provide her PF account number, her name as it appears on her account and the mobile number at which she wishes to receive the balance details. The employee must check the box in acceptance of the Government of India's general terms and conditions applicable to financial data and click Submit to process the request.
