A person's cheeks can be red because he is naturally responding to extreme emotional feelings, including anger, anxiety and stress, explains Healthline.com. One of the most common pathological causes for red cheeks is a health condition called rosacea.
As noted by Healthline.com, rosacea is a chronic skin disorder that results in an abnormal reddening of the nose, cheeks and forehead, with each subtype of the illness having its own trademark set of additional symptoms.
According to WebMD, experts are still unsure of the causes of this chronic skin problem. Rosacea seems to mostly affect people who easily blush, and it tends to run in families.
