What are chia seeds in water used for?
By Forinfos - 04/12/2025 - 0 comments
Chia seeds in water form chia gel or chia fresca, depending on the ratio of seeds to water. Chia fresca contains 1-1/2 tablespoons of seeds for every 2 cups of water, while chia gel contains 4 tablespoons for every 2 cups of water.
Unlike flax seeds, chia seeds do not need to be ground or processed for the body to absorb the seeds' fiber, protein, copper, iron and omega-3 fatty acids. Chia fresca is a hydrating beverage, while chia gel makes a good egg replacement for baking or a thickener when added to soups and smoothies. Additionally, add chia gel to condiments or dressings to reduce fat and calories.
