Are chicken wings bad for diets?

Chicken wings may be good or bad for diets, as the calorie count varies with the cooking method. Roasted or grilled wings are healthier than those deep fried or covered with excess sauce.
As reported by CalorieKing, a single raw chicken wing with skin contains about 109 calories. When roasted, the same wing contains just 98 calories, but more than 200 when fried. Additionally, many of the hot sauces popular with wing lovers contain up to 50 calories per ounce.
To make chicken wings more diet friendly by absorbing less oil, Boston Magazine suggests drying wings prior to cooking. Replacing store-bought sauces with dry rubs or homemade sauces also eliminates excess fats, salts and sugars.
