Where do Christians worship?

Different Christian sects have different beliefs about where it is acceptable to worship God. Common Christian places of worship include churches, chapels, cathedrals and temples.

Although most Christian sects believe that God can be worshipped by any believer, anywhere, most Christian churches have buildings dedicated to the worship of God. These can range from small chapels within larger buildings, such as those found within hospitals, to grand, towering buildings such as the famous Notre Dame cathedral in Paris.

Most churches are small to mid-size buildings, built for beauty and well cared-for. In addition to worship, churches are often social gathering centers for Christians.
