When are the Christmas lights at Temple Square switched on?

The Christmas lights go on at Temple Square the day after Thanksgiving every year. This is when the square officially opens every year.
Since Thanksgiving fell on November 27, 2014, the square's Christmas lights were switched on November 28, 2014. Displays, events and lights will be ongoing from November 28 right up to New Year's Eve on December 31, 2014. There is no entrance fee for the events.
Temple Square, which is located in downtown Salt Lake City, UT, is a 35 acre site. It has various historical sites, gardens and restaurants like The Roof and The Garden. At specific locations, free guided tours with an option of over 40 languages are offered to visitors.
