FCA US, formerly Chrysler Group, reported that it shipped 2.9 million vehicles in 2014, a 12 percent increase, or 300,000 units, from 2.6 million vehicles shipped in 2013. That increase is nearly twice the total of 160,670 vehicles the original Chrysler Corporation sold in 1928.
Chrysler Corporation reached the one million vehicle production milestone in 1936. The company reported that it sold 2.5 million units in 1993.
However, total production numbers peaked at 3,178,462 vehicles in 2000. Between 1992 and 2002, production levels ranged between 2,175,447 units and 2,205,446 units, showing a significant variation from the company's peak production in 2000.
