What is Cigna Vision insurance?

Cigna Vision is an insurance plan that covers eye examinations and corrective lenses, according to Cigna. As of 2015, plan participants can choose from vision care providers inside or outside of the Cigna network. Participants receive full coverage or annual allowances for the services and eyewear they need.

Cigna Vision covers exams and lenses annually and covers frames biannually. If a plan participant wants new frames and contact lenses in the same benefit year, the plan covers one or the other, but not both, notes Cigna. Plan participants who use Cigna's in-network providers receive discounts and higher allowances for services and materials.
