What is Ciprodex used for?
By Forinfos - 06/04/2025 - 0 comments
According to Drugs.com, Ciprodex is a fluoroquinolone antibiotic commonly used to treat ear infections. It is available in the form of liquid drops and contains the steroid dexamethasone, which reduces inflammation from infection. Ciprodex kills bacteria by inhibiting their protein production.
Drugs.com warns that Ciprodex is only to be taken by ear, not orally or in the eyes. The dropper is sterile and must be kept so, otherwise a new ear infection may present itself. A doctor's consultation is necessary if an individual has previously had an allergic reaction to a similar medication, such as ciprofloxacin (Cipro), gatifloxacin (Tequin) or levofloxacin (Levaquin).
