To cite an article using MLA format, write the author?s last name followed by a comma, the author?s first name and a period. The title of the article comes immediately after and is followed by a period. The title should be in quotation marks.
Next, write the name of the publication and italicize this portion of the text. Write the date with the form of day, month and year, followed by a colon. The page numbers where the article was found come next, followed by a period. Finally, include the type of publication, such as print or Web, followed by a period. MLA format varies slightly when citing different sources.
