Citizens National Bank was founded on Dec. 12, 1919, when it received its original charter. The bank's first physical location opened on Public Square in downtown Somerset, Kentucky on Feb. 14, 1920, and possessed $100,000 of Capital, as well as a surplus of $10,000 after a sale of 1,000 stocks.
As of 2015, Citizens National Bank operates nine branches that serve the areas of Pulaski, Russell and Wayne counties in the state of Kentucky. All of the bank's locations include a 24-hour full service ATM and provide both lobby and drive through service during set hours of operation. In 2000, Citizens National Bank owned $251,224,434 in assets.
