As of 2015, Luzerne Bank operates eight locations, all of which are within the Wyoming Valley region of Pennsylvania. Founded in 1907, Luzerne Bank is the last remaining of the independent banks founded to service the Wyoming Valley.
Aside from its main location in Luzerne, Pennsylvania, Luzerne Bank has locations in the Pennsylvania cities of Dallas, Plains and Swoyersville, as well as Lake, Wilkes-Barre and Wyoming. Luzerne Bank also operates a location in Hazle township within Luzerne County.
In 2012, Luzerne Bank entered into a merger agreement with Penns Woods Bancorp, wherein Penns Woods acquired Luzerne. Penns Woods aquired all of Luzerne's outstanding shares for a price of more than $44 million.
