A mixture of vinegar and borax will kill most algae growing on bricks and concrete. Homeowners do not need harsh chemicals to get rid of these pesky growths.
Before getting started, it is important to rinse off the area to get rid of any excess dirt and dust. Next, homeowners should mix 1/2 cup of vinegar and 1/2 cup of borax in a bucket of warm water and apply the mixture to the area with a sponge. The mixture needs to sit for a few minutes in order to work. The area can then be worked with a scrub brush to get rid of the algae and then rinsed off with a strong spray hose.
