When cleaning a Bionaire humidifier always unplug the device first. Both types of humidifiers need to be cleaned at least once a week.

The following steps show how to clean a warm air humidifier.

1. Prepare the cleaning mixture

Add 1 teaspoon of chlorine to a gallon of water in the humidifier. Make sure all sides are wet.

2. Soak

Let the mixture soak in the device for about 20 minutes.

3. Rinse

Thoroughly rinse the device of all chlorine before use.

Cleaning a cool air humidifier entails a different process.

1. Empty the tank

Make sure to remove the tank and water filter. Empty any remaining water from the base and tank.

2. Replace wick filter

If it has been 3 or 4 months since the wick filter has been put in, change the wick filter.
