Cleaning methods for Black and Decker irons vary by model. The manufacturer provides the following instructions for cleaning the Classic Iron (Model F67E) in the care manual.

Turn the iron to the off position, unplug it, and allow it to cool completely before ironing. Wipe the exterior surfaces using a sponge or soft cloth and water. Avoid using abrasives, scouring pads or heavy duty cleaners that may discolor or scratch the surface.

There are no instructions for cleaning the tank or steam lines of this model. The brand makes other irons that have an automatic cleaning cycle to remove accumulated lint and scale from the interior.
