How do you clean a scratched PlayStation 2 game?

To clean a scratched PlayStation 2 game, buff it with disc-repair solution, wipe off the cleaner with a damp rag, spray window cleaner on the disc, and polish it with a dry cloth. Supplies needed are latex gloves, disc-repair liquid, cotton rags, window cleaner, water and a towel.

1. Prepare the supplies

   Bring the disc and cleaning supplies to a well-ventilated area. Put on latex gloves.

2. Apply disc-repair solution

   Dispense about a teaspoon of disc-repair solution onto a clean, soft cotton rag. Wipe the disc in straight lines, starting at the center. Do not rub the rag back and forth or use circular strokes.

3. Rinse the disc

   Wet a clean cotton rag with lukewarm water, and squeeze out the excess moisture. Wipe the disc with the damp cloth, starting at the middle and moving out in a straight line.

4. Apply window cleaner

   Hold a bottle of window cleaner 18 inches from the disc, and pull the trigger several times. Wipe the disc with the damp rag, using straight strokes. Remove the latex gloves.

5. Dry the disc

   Lay the disc on a clean, absorbent towel. Give it several minutes to dry, and then flip it over to dry the other side.

6. Test the repair

   Insert the disc in your PlayStation 2. If it still does not work, apply more disc-repair solution, and leave it on the disc for 15 minutes. Wipe off the solution with a rag, blot the disc on the towel and reinsert it into the game console.
