What is the clipboard located on an Android phone?

The clipboard on an Android phone is a memory function that records the last item copied. A block of text is held in the phone's memory until it is replaced by a newer copied item. Specialized applications can retain a clipboard history beyond the most-recent item copied.

To use the clipboard, launch an application with the information to copy, and select the needed text. Press and hold the text area; a dialog box will appear for copying the text. In the target application for the copied text, press and hold until a dialog box appears with a paste function. Copying and pasting work within a single application as well as among multiple applications.
