How close do sharks come to shore?
By Forinfos - 05/12/2025 - 0 comments
Numerous sharks have been spotted within 200 yards of the shore. This is not necessarily cause for alarm. Most sharks are not interested in attacking humans, and a few simple safety rules will greatly reduce the chance of an attack.
People swimming or surfing near the shore are more at risk of a shark attack during the hours of darkness or twilight and when water conditions are murky. They are also more at risk near areas where potential prey animals congregate and near areas with deep drop-offs. Avoid areas where bait or game fish run or where human or animal waste is disposed.
