The closed End Fund screener is a research tool made available to investors to help them evaluate Closed End funds. The information obtained from the screener tools is used for informational purposes rather than as investment advice, notes Fidelity.

The screener helps the investors filter out funds that have high leverage use. It also screens out funds whose current distribution is unsustainably high or funds that are below the median average, according to Fidelity. The goal of the screener closed end funds tool is to develop a Non-leveraged CEFs whose distribution rates are slightly above the average and sustainable long-term.
