Are Collies rough dogs for adoptions?
By Forinfos - 03/03/2026 - 0 comments
Collies can be rough for adoption if the adopter does not possess the amount of patience needed. Someone who has the time and energy to train and exercise this dog would be best suited to adopt.
Collies have distinct personalities. They were originally bred for cattle-herding and therefore are notorious for chasing and nipping moving things such as people and bikes. They need an immense amount of human contact or they tend to get separation anxiety and become very shy. Collies are intelligent, which makes for very easy training sessions. However, their intelligence also allows for possible trouble when they are left alone for too long.
