Where is Colombia?

Colombia is located at the northwestern edge of South America. On the east side of the country, Colombia shares a border with both Brazil and Venezuela, while on the south side it borders Peru and Ecuador.

While most people refer to the country as Colombia, its official name is the Republic of Colombia. It has a population of over 47 million, most of which speak the native language, Spanish. The country has a total area of approximately 1.14 million square kilometers, of which about 8.8 percent is composed of water. Colombia is known as one of the most diverse countries in the world.
