Stainless steel and white are the most popular colors for kitchen appliances. Other popular colors are black, beige, gray, brown, light green and light blue.

Stainless steel appliances add an industrial look to the kitchen. Despite its tendency for smudges and fingerprints, stainless steel began trending in the year 2000.

Basic white appliances dominated the kitchen in the 1990s, but the 2010s brought a glossy white to the forefront. Where the '90s kitchens had bumpy, textured white exteriors, gloss finishes have a smooth, enameled appearance. Easy-to-clean white finishes also reflect light, bringing a brightness to kitchens that other colors can't provide.
