What is the Color Run?

The Color Run is a 5K race that markets itself as the happiest 5K on the planet. The race is not associated with any specific charities and is considered a for-profit business. It is also known as the paint race, because runners are sprayed with paint while they run.

Runners are encouraged to wear white clothing to the Color Run. After each kilometer is finished, the runners are sprayed with a different color of paint. The Color Run was first established in 2011 and has since expanded to over 170 events. Color Run events take place in 30 different countries.
