What do the colors of the Chinese flag represent?

The red field of the Chinese flag is a traditional color that represents the communist revolution, while the yellow part of the flag, aside from being the official color of the Manchu Dynasty and beloved by the people of China, signifies the "yellow race." The Chinese flag is popularly referred to as the "Five-star Red Flag."

The official flag of China consists of five yellow five-pointed stars forming a vertical arc in the upper hoist-side corner of a red background. The Communist Party is embodied by the large star, while the four smaller ones represent the traditional social classes of China: the capitalists, the workers, the peasants and the urban petty bourgeoisie.
