Common complications of laser eye surgery include over or under correcting the eye, problems with night vision, severe dry eyes, double vision and the appearance of glares in the line of vision, states Mayo Clinic. Some patients have their vision return to its pre-surgery levels over time and need to have the procedure performed again.
During laser eye surgery, the flap of the eye is removed. This can cause excessive tear production and inflammation or infection around the flap.
Though the surgery does improve the vision of most patients, some still need to wear corrective glasses or contacts to have clear vision, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
