What are common funeral vehicles?

The most common funeral vehicle is the hearse, also called the funeral coach, which is a vehicle designed to transport a coffin from the funeral location to the burial location. Hearse styles vary since most are hand-crafted by companies that adapt the bodies of existing vehicles.
The first hearses were horse-drawn carriages that transported coffins. Motorized hearses entered the scene at the beginning of the 20th century. As of 2015, the largest manufacturer of hearses in the United States is Accubuilt, which manufactures approximately 60 percent of hearses in the country. Most hearses are modified from Cadillac or Lincoln vehicles.
