Some common Mercedes-Benz transmission problems include issues with stuck gears or sluggish acceleration due to issues changing gears. These problems most commonly occur when the vehicle is in second or third gear and require replacing the condenser plate and several sensors, costing owners several hundred dollars to fix.

Transmission problems causes vary in terms of severity. Low or dirty transmission fluid can cause slow shifting, which can also be an indication that the clutch plate inside the unit has worn down. If the transmission clutch plate is too worn, the whole unit will have to be replaced; however if the fluid is behind its mileage interval, all that is required is a flush.
