Some companies that offer historical stock price databases are QuantQuote and TickData, according to the Caltech Quantitative Finance Group. These commercial companies offer complete datasets for a fee.
QuantQuote offers comprehensive stock price data files from January 1998 to the present for stocks on NASDAQ and NYSE, says QuantQuote. These data files contain stock prices and earnings data, as well as split and dividend adjustments. As of 2015, the dataset includes 16,206 stock symbols.
TickData offers stock price data files of global stock markets. For the U.S. stock markets, it provides data for stocks on NYSE, AMEX and NASDAQ from January 1993 to the present, according to TickData.
