Virgin Mobile is the carrier for Assurance Lifeline cell phones. The phones are administered to qualifying residents in the United States through a government benefit program. Those receiving SNAP or Medicaid assistance are among the eligible individuals.
As of June 2014, Assurance Lifeline phones equip consumers with 500 talk minutes and unlimited texts for four months from the activation date. Once those four months pass, consumers receive 250 talk minutes and unlimited texts. Call waiting, caller ID and access to voicemail are also supplied, at zero charge. Mobile data and international calling must be purchased by phone owners, if desired.
