What company makes Kirkland dog food?

Diamond Pet Foods manufactures Kirkland dog food for distribution through Costco, as of 2015. The parent company of Diamond, Schell and Kampeter, is a family-owned, privately held manufacturer headquartered in Meta, Missouri, with additional plants in Lathrop, California, and Gaston, South Carolina.
Costco created Kirkland Signature as its private label in 1995, and named it for its corporate headquarters, which were in Kirkland, Washington, at the time. By outsourcing the production of Kirkland dog food to Diamond Pet Foods, Costco avoids investing in manufacturing equipment, and Diamond is able to discount its product to wholesale costs thanks to the large sales volumes offered by Costco.
