Yum Brands is the company that owns Pizza Hut. The company was founded in May of 1997 after being spun off from the PepsiCo fast food division. Yum is one of the largest fast food companies in the world, with restaurants in more than 125 countries.
In addition to owning Pizza Hut, Yum Brands also owns Kentucky Fried Chicken, Taco Bell and WingStreet. The company is headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. Yum Brands owned Long John Silver's and A&W Brands, but sold these restaurant chains in 2011. Many of Yum Brands' restaurants are combined, such as locations that have a Taco Bell and a Pizza Hut in the same building.
