Some complaints about the NovaSure procedure, or endometrial ablation, are pain or bleeding after the procedure has been performed, according to Mayo Clinic. Although rare, a person could experience other side effects as well, such as injury, heat or cold damage to nearby organs, and puncture within the uterine wall.

Endometrial ablation is a procedure where the inner lining of a woman's uterus is destroyed in order to treat conditions such as abnormal uterine bleeding, states WebMD. It can also be used when a patient is unable to have a hysterectomy to stop the abnormal bleeding. This procedure should not be considered by women who would want to become pregnant, as these pregnancies have a higher risk of miscarriage, states Mayo Clinic.
