What is a condominium association?
By Forinfos - 07/01/2026 - 0 comments
A condominium association governs the policies of a condominium project, which is a jointly owned type of housing, typically attached, that is divided into individual units. Each owner is considered a member of the association.
Owners of a condominium share a portion of the land along with any amenities, such as a swimming pool or a clubhouse. Each condominium association has a board of directors, with the members elected annually. Considered a legal entity, this group oversees the collection of dues for insurance and general maintenance. They are also tasked with enforcing pre-determined regulations, which may be restrictions about pets, overnight guests or outside decorations.
