What is Conduit Search?

Conduit Search is a browser hijacker. It is promoted through other free downloads. Once installed, it adds the Conduit toolbar and changes the browser homepage as well as the default search engine to Search.Conduit.com.

Conduit Search displays advertisements and sponsored links in the search results, and it may collect search terms from the queries. Conduit Search is technically not a virus, but it exhibits a number of malicious traits, such as hooking deep into the operating system, browser hijacking and interfering with the user experience. Conduit infection is used to boost advertising revenue and to inflate a site's page ranking in search results.
