H.R. 2067 is a bill introduced in April 2015 that proposes a military service medal be awarded to service members who served honorably during the Cold War. As of September 2015, it has been referred to the House Committee on Armed Services.
The bill was sponsored by Rep. Steve Israel of New York. It proposes that a Cold War Service Medal be created and awarded to military members who served honorably between September 2, 1945, and December 26, 1991. Eligible members must have been on active duty for at least two years, deployed outside the continental United States for at least 30 days, or they must have been a member of a reserve component called up to active duty for purposes related to the Cold War.
