What is considered a mild detergent?

A mild detergent is a detergent that uses surfactants to remove dirt and grease. The solution easily and safely cleans the area when mixed with warm or hot water.
A surfactant is the foaming agent that creates lather when mixed with water. A mild detergent produces a lot of lather. When used on countertops, hands, clothing and other surface items, it is best to ensure that the area is rinsed completely to remove all the surfactants.
Mild detergents are best used for light cleaning while stronger detergents should be considered for set-in stains. However, when cleaning upholstery furniture and fine clothing, mild detergent is best to use because it is gentle.
