What are consonant blends?

Consonant blends are the result of two or three consonant sounds that are heard when English words are pronounced. For example, in the word "street," the "str" portion of the word is a consonant blend.
Many common English words contain consonant blends. Even the world "blend" contains the bl consonant blend. Other blends include:
