What is consumer redress?

Consumer redress is a policy that requires companies who sell goods and products to abide by all relevant consumer laws. Consumer laws are a group of rights designed to protect consumers by allowing them to have proper and courteous treatment when purchasing goods and prevent them from being misled by companies.

Often, companies want to maintain good relations with their clients to ensure they continue to receive business from customers and to attract new customers. Sometimes, however, customers are not treated according to standards set by consumer laws. In those instances they may pursue legal action through consumer redress over matters involving cars, bonds, home repairs and financial concerns.
