The country of Greece is officially a part of the continent of Europe. It is found in the southern part of Europe and is bordered by the Aegean Sea, the Ionian Sea, the Mediterranean Sea, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Albania and Turkey.
Greece has a total area of nearly 82,000 square miles. The highest point of the country is 1.81 miles high at Mount Olympus and the lowest point is at sea level.
The climate of Greece is marked by mild, rainy winters and hot summers with little precipitation. Mountains are found throughout the country. Natural resources located in Greece include lignite, iron ore, lead, zinc, nickel, petroleum, bauxite and marble.
