Converse high tops are a brand of canvas athletic shoe with uppers that extend over the ankle. They are made by the Converse company and sold under the name Chuck Taylor All-Stars. The design of these shoes has remained largely unchanged since they were introduced to the market in 1917.
Converse sneakers have a rubber sole and white rubber toe cap. The shoe's uppers are made of lightweight, flexible canvas that is available in a variety of colors and patterns. High top sneakers reach to just above the ankle, in contrast with low cut Converse shoes that rest below the ankle bone.
