How do you convert a liquid to a solid?
By Forinfos - 08/10/2025 - 0 comments
A liquid is converted to a solid through the phase transition of freezing. All materials have a specific freezing point at which the kinetic energy is low enough for the phase transition to occur. When the temperature is lowered below the freezing point, a liquid is converted to a solid.
- Identify the freezing point
Find the known freezing point of the liquid that is to be converted.
- Reduce the temperature of the liquid
Use ice, a freezer, dry ice or another means to reduce the temperature of the liquid.
- Wait for the object to freeze
As the temperature of the liquid is reduced, the phase transition occurs. Once it is lower than the freezing point, the liquid is converted to a solid.
