Corn is a healthy vegetable that contains B vitamin complexes and vitamin C. It also contains magnesium and potassium. According to Amanda Chan for The Huffington Post, yellow corn also contains lutein which is ideal for maintaining eye health.
Corn has been the basis of many myths in the health world. Although it contains sugar and starch, these ingredients are natural and the body breaks them down easier. EatingWell also states that the myth regarding sweet corn being genetically modified is untrue. The antioxidant properties in corn increase when it is cooked, making it a cancer-fighting and heart disease-fighting food.
