The price of concrete also varies predictably during the year. During warmer months, the cost of concrete increases, while it drops during winter months. This phenomenon is partially due to demand in areas where cold conditions make construction more difficult. Minneapolis and other cold parts of the Midwest, for example, have a construction season, which starts when warmer temperatures spur governments and companies to begin or resume construction projects.
