Does Costco give rebates on gasoline?

Costco offers a 3-percent rebate on gasoline purchases through its TrueEarnings card. The TrueEarnings card is a credit card offered jointly by Costco and American Express.

This 3-percent rebate applies to gasoline purchased at either Costco or a gas station located in the United States. It is not applicable to gas purchased at supermarkets, superstores such as Wal-Mart, convenience stores or warehouse clubs other than Costco. Only gas purchased with the TrueEarnings credit card qualifies for the rebate.

Costco's gasoline rebate is capped at $4,000. This means that the rebate is earned on the first $4,000 of gasoline purchased, not that $4,000 is the maximum rebate that can be earned.
